Know what happens next

A clear scope and shared expectations make the journey easier to understand. Here is the typical path from your first idea to the final walkthrough.

  1. Start with a conversation

Tell us your project location, goals, priorities, and desired timing. We discuss whether the project is a fit and what information would help with the next step.

  2. Review the property and scope

A property review helps identify access, existing conditions, and site considerations. Plans and specialist input may be needed depending on the work.

  3. Develop the estimate and selections

Define the proposed work, materials, allowances, and exclusions. Discuss budget priorities and clarify what remains undecided before agreeing to move forward.

  4. Confirm the plan before construction

Review the agreement, responsibilities, anticipated schedule, and any required approvals. Discuss material lead times, site access, and how changes will be handled.

  5. Build and stay in communication

Coordinate the work and review progress. Scope changes should be documented along with their price and schedule implications before approval.

  6. Walk through and hand over

Review the completed scope and identify any remaining items. Discuss care instructions and applicable product and workmanship warranty terms for your project.

This overview describes the typical project path. The steps, schedule, and responsibilities are tailored to the scope and documented in the project agreement.

Good questions to ask before work begins

  • What is included, excluded, or carried as an allowance?
  • Which selections or approvals are still needed?
  • Who will be my main contact, and how will progress be shared?
  • How will changes affect the price and schedule?
  • What happens at completion, and what warranty terms apply?
